David John Tamberrino

Affiliation: ELT
Title of Project: My Internship at the Dentist's Office

Description of Project:

Mr. Tamberrino assisted in many aspects of dentistry during his time at the office. David assisted the front desk, learned about radiography/x-rays and proper tooth care and dental disease. David also watched the process of developing radiographs. Along with all these interesting jobs, David also had to perform odd-jobs such as labeling, filing and sweeping around the lab.

What was the main benefit you received from doing the project?

This internship allowed David to better understand the medical world as he was able to see first hand the actions being performed.

What were the main pitfalls or obstacles during the development and/or undertaking of the project?

The main pitfall of this experience had to be the many odd-jobs David had to do. Although David performed many exciting and beneficial tasks in the office, he also had to sweep the floor, which didnt benefit him as much.

Timothy C. Auer

Affiliation: ELT
Title of Project: Tactical Radio Design and Production at Thales Communications, Inc.

Description of Project:

Tim performed many benifical jobs his internship. He tested different types of radios that firefighters and military uses. The two main radios he worked on were the Thales 25 Public Safety Radio and the MBITR Tactical Radio.

What were the main benefits you received from doing the project?

Tim believed that his internship was very benifical because he learned a lot from working on radios. He also was able to see what radios the army uses in real combat.

What were the main pitfalls or obstacles during the development and/or undertaking of the project?

The main pitfall in his project was that some radios kept on having frequency problems and it took him a very long time to fix them.

Title of Project: Bergen County Prosecutors Office: Homicide Detectives

Description of Project:

Craigs internship was the most exciting out of the ones I previously described in my opinion. Craig was able to look through solved cases to gain an understanding of how the cases were solved and imputed solved cases into the homicide sergeant. Craig attended numerous autopsies and witnessed interrogations. He also worked in an evidence room as he helped pack and send packages to a lab for analysis.

What were the main benefits you received from doing the project?

This internship allowed Craig to make connections and earn valuable experience.

What were the main pitfalls or obstacles during the development and/or undertaking of the project?

At first, Craig believed that he would not be accepted because he was a teenager, but the people he worked with ended up being very accepting towards him.
